What is a river?	A river can also be called a creek. A river runs down a hill from a source or an underground spring.	A river is holds mostly french water. It normally connects to the ocean.	How many tones can a river hold? Do they always connect to the ocean.
How are rivers formed?	A river is a natural flowing watercourse,usually freshwater flowing towards an ocean.	By water flowing down a hill or a mountain.	When the water or snow falls off the mountain does it form a hole to hold the water
Stages of a river.	Young River - the upper course. Middle Aged River - the middle course. Old River - the lower course	The the water soaks into the ground  The hole/ditch gets bigger due to the weight of the water.	Does the river ever become unusable because of how much water it has held.
What have I learned?	How rivers are formed. What makes a river. The stages of rivers.

Week 4 reflection

 

Write a reflection based on your learning and experiences during week 4. - What was the highlight of your week and why?

Going to Tech and continuing to make a wooden box.It was so much fun being able to learn about measurements and other things about woodwork and what to do.

- What was one challenge and why?

Swimming was a challenge and having to never give up and push yourself to your limits.

- What have you done to walk more in the footsteps of Jesus this week?

I have helped the people who are need of help.

- How have you shown the value of Mercy?

I have tried to be kind and caring to all.

Week 3 reflection.

 My highlight of my week was doing meditation with our schools priest, it was a way to wind down and become aware of our surrounding.

The thing that I found challenging was Tech, as I was new to all of the activities and what we do.

Something I want to improve on is my swimming so that I can be good for the swimming sports coming up.

 I showed mercy by helping people out and lending them my stuff.

I am looking forward to Tech on week 4, as we are making a wooden box. 

My highlight of week 2

 My highlight of week 2 was the swimming sports i'm improving everyday. and becoming better at holding my breath.

What was something challenging ?

Something I found challenging was to do complicated maths and to find a way to decode it.

What was a success?

My successfully completed my art and I was very proud and happy that I had finished it.

What have you learned?  

I learned a lot about Waitangi day and how it became a thing.

Im looking forward to learning new things next week.

At school we have learnt about the 6 mercy values and what they mean.We could make whatever we wanted to, to show what the 6 mercy values are. the 6 values are compassion,hospitality, respect, service and social justice!

Weekly reflection: Week 1

 At the start of week 1 I felt nervous because I was seeing people who I haven't seen in a long time. I was excited to meet new people as well as seeing my friends.

The highlight of my week was spending time with my friends and meeting new people.

Something I found challenging was adapting to the new classroom and new learning strategies.

I am really looking forward to doing fun activities outside of school like tech and swimming.

The Discovery

 The Discovery 

I pedalled so fast, my legs felt like jelly. As I turned the corner there was a computer on the road.  I am known as Darren the Detective.

I placed the computer in my bag and left. I wanted to find whose computer it was. I went back to the lab to find who this mystery person was, then I found the finger print, but I still needed to return the computer. This person went to Pompallier School, but we had no way of finding who this she was. I jotted down some ideas for who this could be. I logged onto the computer and did some searching and found who it was….Isabella Mcauley.I decided to go to the school and asked my cousin who is a teacher to see the cameras. I went there to see Isabella Mcauley. She was in class 7, Henry's class. I went and had a word to Henry asking was Isabella here? Isabella Mcauley. I explained that I had something for her, wondering if she was the one in the blue shirt. I was confused.I walked down to her, gave her the computer, and at the end of the day, it was just another day at the office

 

My Mochi recipe... :)

 My Recipe 

At school we had to make a recipe, or instructions, about anything, on an awesome app called Book Creator… I decided to do Mochi. Mochi is Japanese rice cake (more information is in my book).

We had to do every ingredient in it, measurements, how many cups and all the information that’s needed.

Kelly Tarltons Bio: Kelly Tarlton is renowned for diving, archaeology, conservation and the building of Kelly Tarlton's SEA LIFE Aquarium out of unused sewage tanks. He worked throughout his career to design the innovative marine Aquarium that is four times larger than any other in the world.   

At 12:45 my mum, sister, aunty , two nephews and I went to Kelly Tarltons (a sea life centre). The place was super packed. We all took 25 minutes to find a park. My Aunty had already found a park on the side of the road. After we spent it felt like years, we found a park. I signed in my ticket, at the front of the check in, there was a snow sled that you could go inside. The first thing that we saw was the penguins. They were are the size of the mothers.We went inside of the Cove that had all of the sea animals. It held all the sharks, fish and sea creatures. Once we finished we drove back to my Aunty's and chilled out for the rest of the day.

That was the best day ever.

Klaws : a movie study

In class we have been doing a movie study, about a movie called Klaus a Christmas movie.
The theme was kindness , giving ,friendship and Christmas. there was two family's who disliked each other with a passion .They lived in Smeerensburg, which is a gloomy place with no happiness or friendship. a deputy postman went to Smeersburg ,his name was Jesper. His dad ordered that Jesper has to go to Smeersburg to deliver 6,000  letters.


 We got a contract to do about the movie like , write a letter to a friend in another class explaining why the other person should watch Klaws. I enjoyed  the movie because it showed the meaning of friendship and giving, kindness and Christmas.

I recommend Klaws , because its a movie that you can pick up the meaning easily. Also the meaning of giving and friendship I loved this movie I hope you do too.

Guy Fawkes

I agree that Guy Fawkes should be banned because it frightens animals.How would you like it if you were a dog and your owner set off fireworks and you got frighted by the loud bang?

Also what about the damage you can cause by having fireworks in your backyard, like if you waited for it to explode and it shot in your face,you could damage you're hearing by popping an ear drum or getting a spark in your eye from being to close to the firework.

Waste of money...Fireworks is a waste of money because some don't work or others,last for two minutes.

people have been using them inappropriately,because they think its okay to set them off at the top of Mt Wellington and Auckland, that's making fires all around New Zealand.

There has been a report that there has been fifty-five fires over Auckland by using fireworks.

In conclusion I think that the sale of Guy Fawkes in New Zealand should be banned.

Paplo Picasso

For a few days we have been doing art inspired by Pablo Picasso...
We first did a "Roll-a Picasso" where you rolled a dice and whatever you landed on,you had to have that as your face shape or ear...after we drafted our art.

The next day we got a big piece of paper and did our real art, we used chalk pastel to colour it in.It got all over our hands so we had to wash them after every colour -in case we were to blend the blue in with the red, you were using so it would have a blue streak in the red.
 FACTS:

He received his name when he was baptised.
His name came from all the saints when he was baptised                                    HERE'S MINE!

~Holidays~

Mrs Culter our teacher said we could write about our holiday in order of amazing,scary and relaxing.

~Amazing~
I got to see my new nephew and my other nephew Conor,Conor is 1/2...we got to play in his mini sandpit and on his trampoline sadly my was sore so I couldn't jump that high.we played with his toys but I had to go after. 

~scary~
I learnt how to do a front flip...I was on my trampoline and was going to flip when I landed on my back I  flew up in the air then came crashing down like smashing water on rocks.

~relaxing~ I got to chill and watch two movies full out and tall girl...i also got to play with my dog

Learning

for a few weeks my class have been trying to plant native plants because the tress from in-front of our school got cut down.First we dug some holes to place the plants down,we were digging and found clay,after that we tried a different  place to dig,the same thing happened.a few weeks later Mrs Culter found out it was pan.we got a digger to dig up the pan to make it easier. yesterday we got some plants that we planted.We took until morning tea to finish,someone had to shove the dirt and someone would run it to the front of the field and back.everyone would take turns.by the time we were done I was puffed and the worst thing was we had athletics after that...but I still enjoyed it!

Mahi Tahi,Mahi Tahi is when the three class come toughtor.
there are three C's that are communication,calibration,critical thinking and creativity.
In Mahi Tahi we get put into groups,like we did.

There was a taster and a guesser I was the taster,we began with icing sugar I thought it tasted like cotton candy,next was mustered then coco power,salt,I got lime juice it was so sour then marmite,capper seed that tasted like pepper then the one that I didn't enjoy was hot clii sauce my favourite GOLDEN SYRUP this was one of the best days ever
